My name is Kate and I research how technology companies and governments can protect civilians from tech facilitated mass atrocities and human rights abuses.

Recent Highlights:

Recently finished a fellowship in Uganda offering legal aid to refugee communities and exploring AI governance efforts in East Africa

Published a Nature commentary on anticipatory ethics in quantum military applications with the Ethics in Defence project at the Oxford Internet Institute

Completed a Rhodes Scholarship with a MSc in Social Science of the Internet (from the Oxford Internet Institute) and an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy (Oxford Department of International Development)
